NORWICH — A vote for the Norwich City School District budget was held on May 18.
The overall budget of $42,726,627 passed with 194 votes in favor, and only 64 against. This is an increase of 1.85 percent compared to the 2019-2020 budget.
According to a newsletter from the school district, program expenditures saw a 4.62 percent increase, while capital and administration expenditures decreased by 9.46 percent and 1.16 percent, respectively.
Director of Business Services Brian Bartlett said the tax levy will only be increasing by .09 percent, but that he can't say how that will effect resident's taxes.
