Norwich baseball splits games
NORWICH - Norwich’s baseball team salvaged a 1-1 split from last week putting together its best offensive performance of the season on Thursday.
The Tornado snatched the lead against Chenango Valley with a five-run second inning, and poured it on with eight more tallies in the fourth en route to a 17-5 victory.
The win came on the heels of a 7-5 setback to Susquehanna Valley on Tuesday.
In the win over CV, a trio of Purple batsmen collected three RBI on the day.
Logan Ford and Evan Sylstra each had three-hit and three-ribbie days, while Mike Hagen also drove in three runs.
That offense backed the complete-game pitching performance of winning pitcher Keegan Franklin.
