NORWICH – After approximately two years of not being able to do a live performance, Perkins School of the Arts is partnering with the Colonia Theater to bring dance styles of all kinds to the big screen.

According to Perkins School of the Arts Co-Owner Mikey Perkins, the Colonia Theater will premiere a movie of their dancers hard at work at 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday as part of the theater’s reopening following the COVID-19 shutdown.

“This is all about our community, this movie shows the drive and determination that these kids have, and how hard they were willing to work throughout the pandemic to practice their art,” said Perkins. “They’ve been dancing full out with a mask on, without a live audience for about the past two years.”

“Recently we were able to partner with the Chenango Arts Council to do a live performance at their beautiful stage, and that will be featured in the movie as well.”
