NORWICH — Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason was presented with a plaque during Tuesday's joint committees meeting.

Norwich Mayor Shawn Sastri presented the plaque to Mason, and read a statement thanking him for his years of service to the community.

"In grateful appreciation of your many years of hard work and dedication, your selfless efforts have enriched the lives of countless numbers of children and families, and have made the City of Norwich a finer place. Even if you change one life, you change the world forever. Thank you for your service," read Sastri.

The room erupted in applause as a further thank you to Mason for his 25 years as Youth Bureau Director.

"Thank you," said Mason. "The work changed my life, too."
