Norwich 3, Susquehanna Valley 0

NORWICH - Norwich’s volleyball team won for the second time this week, and still has not given up a set sweeping visiting Susquehanna Valley on Thursday, 25-15, 25-19, 25-15.

The Tornado’s Lauren Squires and Maddy Morris again provided a solid hitting and setting combination.

Squires pounded way a game-high 16 kills, while Morris picked up 16 assists. Meg Lindridge, Madisyn Ryan, and Miranda Cole also provided balanced contributions with kills, digs, assists, and aces.

Norwich faces Johnson City Monday, Sept. 20.

GREENE - Oxford easily controlled all three sets against host Greene on Thursday earning a 25-9, 25-13, 25-5 road victory.

Mallory Olsen-Nichols paced the Blackhawks with 15 assists and 12 aces in the victory. Madalyn Barrows also served a pair of aces.

Nicole Marks picked up four digs for Greene (0-2).

Delhi 3, Afton-Harpursville 2

DELHI - In a seesaw battle with visiting Afton-Harpursville that saw the teams rotate winning sets, the Bulldogs captured the decisive fifth to defeat the Bears, 25-11, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19 on Thursday.

Julia Baxter had 10 kills and five stuff blocks for Delhi, while Izzy Tucker added 15 assists.

Afton-Harpursville had a team-high 26 assists from Madison Miller, and 14 kills from Mallory Carman.
