NORWICH – Eligible properties located within the City of Norwich’s Museum District, Rexford Street from the North Broad Street intersection to the Silver Street intersection, have been getting an overhaul in recent weeks.
Construction crews from various entities including the city DPW are doing major work in the area– landscaping, updating power lines, street lighting, along with sidewalk and road repair and replacement. The plan will benefit local residents, the Northeast Classic Car Museum and Chenango County History Museum, both located along Rexford Street.
Grant funding is provided by the Norwich Building Tomorrow Foundation with The Curb Appeal Program. The project was approved by city officials but is being administered by the Friends of the Museum District Design Committee.
City officials said the project was on schedule to finish at the end of October or beginning of November, depending on the weather and availability of concrete. (Read more about it in an upcoming edition of the Evening Sun)
