GREENE - Afton-Harpursville contained the Greene offense allowing just one shot on goal, but it still needed a late fourth-quarter goal to grab the close victory over the Trojans on Friday.
Alexandra Hosmer scored unassisted with just 4:33 left in the fourth giving her team the victory.
"It was a closely matched game, but Afton-Harpursville was just the better team tonight," said Greene coach Heather Rapp.
Afton-Harpursville grabbed the early lead in the second quarter. Cassidy Hoyt tallied off a Lexi Schultz pass.
Greene's lone goal came with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Liv Kennedy tallied for the Trojans (5-2) off a Claire Flanagan pass that made it a 1-1 game.
