NORWICH - Norwich dropped its first set in five matches, but was able to extend its winning streak to six games defeating Oneonta in four, 25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 25-15.

Lauren Squires led from the front posting 20 kills for the Tornado (6-1). Maddy Morris had a team-high 12 assists, and Miranda Cole totaled six kills, six digs, and three aces.

Norwich has only dropped three sets since losing its opening match of the season to Owego in four.

The Tornado have the opportunity to avenge that loss when it hosts Owego on Thursday.

NEW BERLIN - In a matchup pitting two of the stronger Midstate Athletic Conference lineups, Oxford handed Unadilla Valley its first loss of the season winning in four tightly contested sets, 27-29, 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.

Madalyn Barrows had an all-around strong night for Oxford (4-1) finishing with 10 kills, 11 digs, and four aces. Tamera Hurlburt served seven aces for the Blackhawks, and Mallory Olsen-Nichols racked up 20 assists.

Maddi Sayles and Kate Conway had big nights on the Storm's side.

Sayles finished with 8 aces and 12 digs, while Conway posted 17 assists, 6 aces, and six digs.

UV (5-1) plays at Delhi Thursday, and Oxford travels to Harpursville-Afton on Thursday.
