NORWICH – Chenango Arts Council is pleased to announce their full 2021-22 Performance Season, bringing live performance, music and laughter back to the Martin W. Kappel Theater after COVID-19 forced arts organizations nationwide to shut down last year.

“After so long of having nothing, it was especially important to include something for everyone this season,” reflects CAC Executive Director Alecia ONeill. “It’s been a year and a half, and we needed to provide programing the whole community could come together and enjoy. “

October 30 marks the first show, a Halloween Happening headlined by Nate Gross and his All Star Band. “Blues is Dead” is a celebration of the Blues music of The Grateful Dead.

The very next Saturday, Nov 6, Chenango Arts Council presents “Film and Strings: The Gold Rush Revisited”. This free event combines a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s movie The Gold Rush with a one-of-a-kind score performed live by Violinist Elizabeth Simchik, making for a unique evening of comedy, music and film history.

“Broadway’s Next Hit Musical” will be the Arts Council’s Holiday Show for 2021. An improvised musical comedy, this production will be created fresh from audience suggestions on December 10. All the characters, plot twists, songs and dialog will be literally written especially for them.

“Magic by Michael” hits the stage May 21, 2022, when Michael Gray will delight audience members of all ages with his skills of illusion.

Performances in the 2021-22 Season have a 7 pm start time in the Martin W. Kappel Theater, 27 West Main Street, Norwich NY 13815.
