NORWICH  -  Since an opening-match four-set loss to Owego, Norwich's volleyball team has been on a roll.

The Purple Tornado avenged that defeat, and won their seventh straight match knocking off the previously-unbeaten Indians, 25-15, 25-16, 20-25, 25-12, on Thursday night.

Since losing that opening match, Norwich had dropped only three total sets over the next six matches, and nearly had a three-set sweep against the Indians.

Lauren Squires and Miranda Cole provided the firepower at the net for Norwich, and Maddy Morris was the more-than-capable setter.

Squires piled up 20 kills and Cole added 14 kills. Morris, meanwhile, was charted with a season-best 27 assists.

Norwich (7-1) returns to action Oct. 5 when it hosts Vestal.
