GUILFORD – On Sunday emergency crews were called to the scene of a three-vehicle crash in the town of Guilford involving several injuries, some of them serious.
The accident occurred at about 7:52 p.m.,with troopers and multiple EMS and fire personnel responding to the intersection of County Road 35 and State Highway 8.
On Monday New York State Police released the following information:
“An initial investigation revealed that a Dodge Ram 2500 was east on County Road 35 and a Ford Fusion was traveling north on State Highway 8.
“The Dodge Ram entered the intersection and struck the Ford Fusion then struck a Subaru Forester which was stopped at the intersection (facing west) on County Road 35.
“The operator of the Ford Fusion, a 36-year-old female of New Bedford, MA and her passenger, a 30-year-old female of Port Leyden, NY were both transported to Wilson Hospital with serious injuries.
“A five-year-old female, a seven-year-old female and a three-year old female all of Port Leyden, NY were transported to Tri-Town Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
“The operator of the Dodge Ram, 69-year-old man from Monroe, NY was evaluated at Tri-Town Hospital and released. His passenger, a 37-year-old male of Goshen, NY was not injured.
“The operator of the Subaru Forester, a 24-year-old male of Sidney, NY and his passenger, a 23-year-old female of Sidney, NY were taken to Tri-Town Hospital then to Wilson Hospital.”
The NY State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit also responded and the crash remains under investigation.
