GREENE - Greene finished off a 7-0 regular season, and secured the number two seed in the upcoming 8-man football playoffs blanking Thomas A. Edison on Friday night, 38-0.

The Trojans allowed just four first downs to Edison, and also rushing for a season-best 350 yards.

"It was the best defense we've played all year," said Greene coach Dave Gorton. "We watched (Edison) on film, and even when they weren't scoring, they moved the ball well and possessed the ball. We took that away, and it was very encouraging."

The Trojans had four scoring plays of at least 46 yards.

Grayson Flanagan threw a 52-yard TD pass to Bill Dunlap to open the scoring in the first, and Tyler Brown dashed 67 yards for the second score making it a 12-0 lead after one quarter.

Later in the game, Hunter Page scored on a 60-yard TD run, and Hogan Ludolph completed the scoring with a 46-yard fumble return.

Walton 38, Bainbridge-Guilford 6

WALTON - Walton went to its tried and true rushing attack, and used that power approach to hand the Bobcats (1-7) a season-ending defeat on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors started the game in a spread offense, but after early ineffectiveness, went back to a full-house backfield with two blocking tight ends.

"It was pretty even - back and forth - early in the game," said B-G coach Israel Lorimer.  "We had a nice drive (in the first quarter), then fumbled. They scored, then we had another good drive, and fumbled again. We shot ourselves in the foot."

Walton amassed over 300 rushing yards for the game led by Deacon Phoenix's 169 yards and three rushing scores.  Ethan Miller and Anthony McClenon combined for 145 more rushing yards and a touchdown.

"We had three scoring threats deep in their territory," Lorimer said. "Then we'd get a bad snap, a penalty, or someone misses an assignment. Unfortunately, that's been our season."

B-G did get on the board in the fourth quarter when Declyn Marshfield returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
