NORWICH — After nine months of campaigning, the results are in: Brian Doliver has been elected as the upcoming City of Norwich mayor, with 73.8 percent of votes.
Doliver, who has served on the Norwich Common Council as Ward 2 Alderman for eight years, said he is grateful for all the support from voters, and is excited to begin his new role on January 1.
"I'm very overwhelmed by the support and, you know, the people that came out to support me. I'd like to thank my family, mother, father, sisters, and my wife Valerie for all they did for me, and council members for their words of support," said Doliver. "I'm excited for the next part, to actually be able to get the work started now."
When his term starts, Doliver said one of the first things he would like to do as mayor is begin building relationships, and working with, nearby municipalities and their organizations.
