HARPURSVILLE - Oxford's girls' basketball team rebounded from its first loss of the season beating Harpursville in Monday night's lone Chenango County basketball offering.
Clinging to a 27-24 lead over Harpursville midway through the third quarter, the Blackhawks (3-1) finished the quarter on a 15-2 run.
Madalyn Barrows scored the first nine points of that closing run, while Taylor Smith, Ava Benjamin, and Ella Kelsey added buckets to close the quarter and push the lead to 16.
"It was a very physical game," said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. "We may have played some of our best basketball in the third quarter."
Barrows finished with a game-high 30 points, and is averaging over 26 points a game through four games.
Barrows and Kelsey had a team-high five steals apiece, and Barrows dished out five assists.
Oxford plays Frankfort-Schuyler Thursday evening at the Morris Tournament.
