Bainbridge-Guilford 49, Oxford 29
OXFORD - The rough early-season schedule is now paying off for Bainbridge-Guilford.
The Bobcats (2-4) won their second Midstate Athletic Conference division game in as many outings beating winless Oxford (0-5) on Tuesday night.
"Our non-league schedule was very difficult, and it has prepared us well for the league," said B-G coach Kevin Wehrli.
Ilias Wilson helped B-G establish a 14-10 lead at the first turn, but it was the hot outside shooting of Isaac Seiler in the second stanza that extended the lead to double digits by halftime.
Seiler canned a trio of 3 balls for all nine of his points as the lead grew to 29-14.
Wilson wound up with 16 points to top B-G's scorers, and Connor Vredenburgh added nine points and 12 rebounds.
"Even though we won by 20 points, the players realize we are just starting to reach our potential," Wehrli said. "We haven't been 100 percent healthy in terms of available players for any game yet, but should be back to full strength by the first week in January."
Ethan Ehly scored 11 points for Oxford, and Ethan Fleury contributed nine.
