NEW BERLIN – The upcoming Unadilla Valley Holiday Basketball Tournament will quite literally be an opportunity to “play your neighbor.”
The 2021 version of the boys’ event will feature teams from Chenango County with Greene, Norwich, Sherburne-Earlville, and host Unadilla Valley participating.
Opening round games will be on Tuesday, December 28, with Greene playing Norwich at 3 PM and S-E versus UV at 6 p.m.
Live play-by-play coverage of both games will be aired live over the internet.
The schools in the UV girls’ tournament include Greene, Sherburne-Earlville, Unadilla Valley, and Windsor. The S-E game with UV is set for 4:30 PM on Tuesday.
The internet audio-stream of tournament games is being provided by the crew that covers all Norwich High School contests. Since the UV tournament involves other teams from Chenango County, coverage is being expanded to all boys’ varsity games on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Live-streaming on Wednesday begins with the boys’ varsity consolation game scheduled for 3:30 PM and the championship game in the evening. If the girls’ title game is between local schools, that game may be broadcast, too.
Instructions for listening are simple. Go to mixlr.com from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. Put Norwich High School in the search area. All broadcasts are free. Veteran play-by-play announcer Harry Graves will call the action.
Start times for all games are approximate. Actual start times depend on the length of the preceding games. Contests later in the day will most likely begin as much as a half-hour later than the originally scheduled time.
