NEW BERLIN – On December 18 the New Berlin Library hosted the Village of New Berlin Annual Christmas Party.

This event, traditionally held at the New Berlin Masonic Temple, is held annually by the Village of New Berlin for area youths and their families.

The last minute change of venue was due to heating issues at the Masonic Temple and scheduling conflicts with the Village of New Berlin Community Center.

New Berlin Library Board President George Anderson said “The New Berlin Library was thrilled to be able to step in and provide a location for this great annual holiday event for children.” Mr. Anderson stopped by the event and stated he was “happy to see the great turnout with children taking pictures with Santa and decorating cupcakes.”

“Despite an ongoing pandemic, a winter weather warning, and a last minute change in venue the I am pleases that the Village of New Berlin was able to hold this holiday event.

We will always be able to pick out the holiday party pictures from 2020 and 2021 because everyone is in face masks.” said Village of New Berlin Youth Commissioner Michelle Priola. “ I would also like to thank the Norwich Walmart for their donation to this event.” Ms. Priola further stated.

This year the Village of New Berlin had photos with Santa Claus, cupcake decorating, Christmas ornament crafts, and hot chocolate. All activities during the event were free and open to the public.

In addition the New Berlin Library sponsored a picture book giveaway and a Santa cookie toss game complete with prizes.

The holiday season is fast approaching and the library will be closed on several dates to allow staff to travel and celebrate. For Christmas the library will be closed Friday December 24 and Saturday December25. For New Years the library will be closed Friday December 31 and Saturday January 1.

The New Berlin Library is located at 15 South Main Street, New Berlin.
