COVID-19 Update for Chenango County

CHENANGO COUNTY – As of Tuesday there are 449 active cases of COVID-19 in Chenango County, 205 of which are vaccinated, and 13 individuals are currently hospitalized, none of which are vaccinated.

The Chenango County Department of Health confirmed there have been 6,868 total cases of COVID-19 in Chenango.

There have been 92 confirmed deaths.

The health department also confirmed there are 583 residents under quarantine, and 6,772 total recoveries.

So far approximately 180,107 tests for the virus have been administered in the county.

Vaccine information

The health department also confirmed that 63.3 percent of the total Chenango County population has received at least one vaccine dose, and 73.9 percent of the 18 years and older population has received at least one vaccine dose.

According to the health department, second doses of the vaccine are being offered this week: Jan. 1 at the Sherburne School; Jan. 3 at the Norwich School; Jan. 4 at the Bainbridge School; and Jan. 5 at the Oxford School.
