BOYS' BASKETBALL

Delhi 72, Oxford 34

OXFORD - Delhi is the team the beat in the Midstate Athletic Conference, as far as Oxford head coach Booker Davis is concerned.

The Bulldogs' smothering defense and opportunistic offense led it to a 49-9 halftime lead over the Blackhawks in a runaway victory.

"Their trap killed us," Davis said. "They're a really athletic team; well coached, and disciplined…They're the best team we've played - by far."

Luke Schnabel had 10 points in the opening quarter for Delhi on his way to 16 points. Angelo Krzyston scored all 17 of his points over the first three quarters, and Owen Haight netted all 14 of his points through three quarters.
