Greene Returns To The Victory Column With Strong Second Half

Greene 61, Afton 27

GREENE - Greene ended a recent streak of losses finishing off Thursday's win over Afton with one of its best offensive halves of the season.

Leading the Crimson Knights by 13 at halftime, the Trojans (3-8) erupted for 40 second-half points.

"Building off some cohesive play at Deposit, we had a decent team showing tonight," said Greene coach Rick Tallman. "Hoping this momentum continues as we finish out the season."

Joey Gibbs, Aiden Pickard, and Joel Vielandi all scored in double figures for the Trojans.

Gibbs had 11 of his second over the final two quarters, Pickard eight of his 13, and Vielandi six of his 10 markers.

"Vielandi is healthy off a sprained thumb, and he is contributing nicely," Tallman said. "Pickard is doing good things in the paint, and is showing the poise we knew he had within."

Susquehanna Valley 51, Bainbridge-Guilford 32

BAINBRIDGE - Bainbridge-Guilford's typically stingy defense had few answers for Susquehanna Valley's Nick Stilloe in Thursday's non-league loss to the Sabers.

Stilloe scored a game-high 27 points, with 25 of those coming over the first three quarters.

"SV is a well coached team," said B-G coach Kevin Wehrli. "We played well on the defensive end, but missed shots we normally make."

David Emerson had 11 points for Bainbridge-Guilford (6-7).

Little Falls 62, Sherburne-Earlville 36

LITTLE FALLS -Little Falls put together an overwhelming first half building a 26-point lead by halftime in Thursday's home win over Sherburne-Earlville.

Logan Frederick was the main offensive weapon for Little Falls finishing with a game-high 22 points. Frederick did all of his scoring damage over the first three quarters before taking a seat.

Preston Eaves scored eight points to lead S-E (6-9).

Walton 55, Oxford 38

OXFORD - Oxford's offensive production fell off over the final two quarters in Thursday's home loss to Walton.

The Warriors had balanced scoring down the lineup with Robert Comkin scoring a team-high 12 points.

Oxford was within 28-24 at the halftime break, but managed just 14 points and six total field goals over the final 16 minutes.

Dylan Kittredge led Oxford with 14 markers.

SIDNEY - Alec Fogarty supplied much-needed fourth-quarter offense for Sidney as it held on to beat Unadilla Valley on Thursday evening.

Fogarty scored a game-high 27 points, 10 of those coming in the final quarter as the Warriors extended a six-point lead to nine.

Zach Smith (12), Trason Murray (11), and Kaden Butts (10) all reached double figures scoring for UV.

SOUTH OTSELIC - Fabius-Pompey jetted away from Otselic Valley with an impressive 20-2 fourth quarter to blow open a tight game on Thursday.

Eight difference Fabius-Pompey players scored in the final period, one in which it clung to a 34-28 lead over the host Vikings.

Ryan Heselden was the lone F-P player to score more than four points in the last stanza netting six of his 12.

Braeden Davis had 16 points to top the Vikings.

Eight different players scored in fourth for Fabius-Pompey. Heselden with six points.

UV boys, girls defeat Deposit

DEPOSIT - At Fox Bowl on Thursday, Unadilla Valley's girls bowling extended their unbeaten streak, while the Storm boys maintained their MAC division lead.

Both UV teams picked up 4-0 wins with Pyper Kneale's 548 triple leading the Storm ladies.

Nate Rumovicz compiled a 647 series to pace the UV boys, and Jacob Prentice added a 617.

Darren Florance (102) pinned his foe in 20 seconds, Joey Florance (118) followed two weights later with a 17-0 technical fall over Tanner Macumber.

Jose Bivar (132) stuck Asaac Mead in 1:33, while Brady Buttice (160) flattened Sam Parkinson in 1:44.
