SYRACUSE - The Institute of Technology eliminated Sherburne-Earlville from the Section III, Class B playoffs Thursday on the strength of a big second half.
Racquelle Isaac scored 22 for IT and Zay Priester added 16 in the win.
Sherburne-Earlville took a one-point lead into halftime, but was outscored the Marauders 34-18 over the final two quarters.
"I thought we played pretty well," said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. "(Isaac) hurt us inside all game. He's big, strong, and athletic, and we couldn't keep him off the boards."
The Marauders (7-14) fashioned the first-half lead largely thanks to scoring of Brock Weidman.
Weidman had a team-high 21 points, but 16 of those markers came over the first two quarters.
Preston Eaves added 15 points for S-E, which faced as difficult a regular season schedule as any in recent years.
"We played six games against teams that were state-ranked when we played them," Vibbard said. "And (Institute of Technology) was no slouch, either. We played them tough, but the third quarter we struggled a little bit, and that was the turning point. For the most part, I was pleased with the way we played tonight."
