NORWICH — NBT Bank’s newest Wall of Art installment features the work of local artist Julian Button. NBT’s Wall of Art is made possible through the bank’s partnership with the Chenango Arts Council.

“As our partnership with the Chenango Arts Council continues, our NBT Bank employees and customers will have the opportunity to experience the works of Julian Button,” said NBT Retail Market Manager Brian Burton. “Julian is no stranger to displaying his works on NBT's walls, and we are excited to continue this relationship with his current display."

Button uses 35 mm film and digital technology to capture his images, and both chemical and digital darkrooms for the finished photographs.

“Julian is a very talented illustrator,” said Chenango Arts Council Executive Director Alecia ONeill. “Much of his work will be recognizable to individuals who are familiar with local history and geography. The Arts Council is proud to be able to share his remarkable talent with our community.”

Button operates his studio in Sherburne, NY, and his creativity doesn’t stop with the photos. He also designs and makes his own frames and mats to complement each individual archival image.

“I work in multiple mediums, including watercolor, acrylics, pen and ink, handmade paper and books, murals, photography, and computer-generated designs,” said Button.

Button’s work will be on display until the end of April 2022 when NBT will welcome the works of artist Gary Stevens to the Wall of Art.
