NORWICH — The Mid-York Concert Band will present its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, May 22, at 2:30 p.m. in the Norwich High School Auditorium. This spring's themes are "States of the Union" and "Our Armed Forces."
Highlights will include "The Spirit of Aloha" celebrating Hawaii, "Magic City Fanfare" inspired by Miami, Florida, "Mills on the Merrimack" presenting a musical portrait of Lowell, Massachusetts and its mill town traditions. Listen for the taxi horns in "New York: 1927." "The Patriot" by John Williams celebrates the beginning of the United States of America.
As has been our tradition, the spring performance will conclude with our tribute to local service men and women with "Armed Forces: The Pride of America," arranged by Larry Clark and Greg Gilpin.
This ensemble is made possible with public funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Earlville Opera House.
