AFTON — The Afton Central School Board of Education is currently in the beginning phase of the search process to find a highly qualified educational leader for the position of Superintendent of Schools, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of our Superintendent of Schools Timothy McNamara.

The search process will continue over the upcoming months, and the Board has officially appointed Mr. Gordon Daniels to serve as our Interim Superintendent during the search process.


As we continue this process, we would like to give the people of the Afton community the opportunity to identify what you believe to be the most desirable characteristics to be considered in developing a profile for the new Superintendent.


The survey may be completed online by accessing the link www.aftoncsd.org and clicking on Superintendent Search Survey under News and Announcements. For those who are not able to, or do not wish to complete the survey online, a paper copy may be obtained from the Afton Central School District Office.


All surveys must be submitted online or completed and returned to the district office no later than the end of the business day on Monday, April 4.


As the search process continues, interdisciplinary committees will be formed.
