NORWICH – The Norwich Girls Basketball Boosters announced the award winners of the 2022 season. While the team finished as STAC division and Section IV class B champions, its four seniors received the highest honors.

Senior Margaret Doughter won the following awards: BCANY Section IV Class B Player of the Year, BCANY Section IV First Team Selection, STAC East/Central All Conference Team, and NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete.

Senior Emily Evans received BCANY Section IV First Team Selection as well as STAC East/Central All Conference Team and NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete.

Senior MacKenzie Hess was recognized for STAC East/Central All Conference Team and was a NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete.

Senior Maddy Morris made the STAC East All Division Team.

Coach Josh Bennett was proud of the girls and will miss them next year.

“These four seniors have been with the program for so long. They met our stability and style that we like to play with running up tempo, trapping, and overall being all good shooters,” Bennett said. “They were very committed and were a perfect example of kids that put in the time, especially in the offseason when we asked them to, and allowed us to sustain the success we have.”
