Published: May 16th, 2022

OXFORD — The Oxford Academy is partnering with SUNY Broome to provide a local adult education class about computers for absolute beginners. The class will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from May 17 to May 26 in the Oxford Academy Middle School Technology Lab.

Have you been putting off taking the plunge into the world of computers? Do terms like 'hard disk' and 'system unit' boggle your mind? This course is taught at a slow pace for the computer novice. We promise to be gentle with you and bring you into the company of the computer literate.

Learn basic computer terms and the components of a computer system. Emphasis is placed on learning the functions of the keyboard, mouse, and the Windows operating system. We will also cover the use of the internet and word processing using Microsoft Word.
