Sherburne–Earlville Recognizes 2022 Valedictorian And Salutatorian

SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Central School District is proud to recognize Rebecca Karaman as valedictorian and Samantha Sulton as salutatorian of Sherburne-Earlville High School’s Class of 2022, which will graduate together Saturday, June 25.

The in-person graduation ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Marauder Stadium and will be open to the public.

Valedictorian Rebecca Karaman:

SEHS Valedictorian Rebecca Karaman has a brilliant mind and is always eager to learn. Rebecca has already earned a number of college credits thanks to her rigorous course load, which includes Advanced Placement, Honors, and Dual-Enrollment courses. Her dedication to education and outstanding work ethic have earned her the top academic spot in the Class of 2022.

Rebecca is a model student who is involved in a wide variety of school activities, such as soccer, track and field, and the drama department, to name a few. Also a peer tutor, Rebecca consistently volunteers to help fellow students who are struggling academically.

Outside of school, Rebecca has logged roughly 130 hours of community service – well above the minimum senior requirement of 15 hours – and helps her church with dinners, community lunches and Mission Mondays.

Rebecca is the daughter of Peter and Sandra Karaman of Sherburne. After graduation, she plans to major in Biology/Pre-Med at Binghamton University.

Salutatorian Samantha Sulton”

SEHS Salutatorian Samantha Sulton is a dedicated student who has always taken a full schedule to push herself academically. Samantha is a gifted, accelerated student who skipped a grade in middle school. Throughout her years at S-E, she has taken and excelled in numerous AP and Dual Enrollment/Honors courses.

Samantha is a strong, genuine person with a wonderful personality who listens for value when her classmates speak. She is a dedicated dancer who has been extremely successful in competitions, including at the national level. Samantha also finds time to work with younger students as a mentor at Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School.

Samantha is the daughter of Michael and Diane Sulton of Earlville. After graduation, she plans to major in Chemistry at the University of Virginia.
