NORWICH — Local Historian John Antonowicz has long collected artifacts from Norwich’s past. Now, he is partnering with Chenango Arts Council to create an exhibit showcasing works from many of the talented artists who’ve come from the area, as well as depictions of local landmarks.
“HeART of Norwich… As Collected by John Antonowicz” opens in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
“I’ve been collecting for over 15 years,” explains Antonowicz. “This seemed like the best way to share it with the community.”
“There are so many interesting and eclectic pieces,” seconds Arts Council Executive Director Alecia ONeill. “It’s such a thrill to be able to display so much from Chenango County’s history with the arts.”
This is not the first time Antonowicz has contributed to a CAC Gallery Exhibit. Most recently, he lent the Council several pieces from the building’s past as a High School.
“HeART of Norwich” will hang in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries, located at Chenango Arts Council, 27 West Main Street in Norwich from July 1 to 29. The July 1 opening reception will feature refreshments provided by the Cottage Bakery, operating out of The Artist’s Palette in Norwich.
