NORWICH – The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) announces extended Saturday summer hours which began on June 25 and will run through Oct. 8.
“Over the past few years, our focus has shifted from simply curating local heritage to serving as a community partner, an educational resource, and a regional destination,” said Jessica Moquin, CCHS executive director. “Expanding our summer hours is part of our commitment to seek, include, and welcome all audiences.”
Volunteer ambassadors are essential to CCHS. They staff the museum shop, give visitor tours, and assist with a wide range of administrative activities – from answering phones to transcribing collection documents. CCHS is looking to recruit a few new individuals to the volunteer ambassador pool.
“The role of an ambassador is to serve as a welcoming, inclusive, and professional representative of the museum, providing a hospitable environment and rewarding learning experience for its visitors,” said Moquin.
Anyone who enjoys interacting with others while sharing local history and has basic computer and office skills is welcome to consider volunteering as an ambassador. Visit ChenangoHistorical.org/get-involved for more details and to complete a volunteer application.
