CHENANGO COUNTY – Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr. announces the following promotions: Lieutenant Joshua Gould has assumed the duties as the undersheriff.

Undersheriff Gould has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2003 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2018. He had previously held the positions of sergeant, K-9 deputy, and deputy within his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office.

Detective Sgt. Dustin Smietana has been promoted to Patrol Lieutenant and has assumed all the duties as the head of the Patrol Division.

Detective Jeffrey Barton has been promoted to detective sergeant, where he will oversee the Detectives Division.

Dispatcher Alan Burke has been promoted to the 911 Addressing Coordinator within the Communications Division.
