EARLVILLE — The Earlville Opera House is honored to present multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter David Bromberg and his Quintet as the feature of its 50th Anniversary Performance Season at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 22.

This band isn’t standing still, and Bromberg is still pushing boundaries into his own 50th year of musicianship, offering a rare opportunity for fans to see him right here in Earlville! Support for this event is provided by WAER 88.3 Syracuse University.

Still radically unapologetic and unique as he continues to explore his life’s journey via a path that might be considered "asymmetrical," Bromberg’s musical expression is still incomparable and his scope of knowledge is encyclopedic. Bromberg’s band is road-tested and filled with ace musicians.

Its current lineup is anchored by Mark Cosgrove on guitar, mandolin, and vocals; Nate Grower on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and vocals; Josh Kanusky on drums and vocals; and newest member Suavek Zaniesienko on bass and vocals.

Bromberg is an outrageous guitar slinger who could blow anyone off the stage, and has morphed into a masterful bandleader. After 50 years, David has evolved but is still searching, still creating, still vital, and ever humble.

With his 1971 self-titled Columbia Records release, Bromberg emerged as a wunderkind of American roots music. The disc’s blend of traditional and original material, virtuosic musicianship, and iconic cover art trumpeted the arrival of a new artist of audacious vision.

Over the course of seven more albums for Columbia and Fantasy Records, and through associations with Bob Dylan, Jerry Jeff Walker, John Hartford, George Harrison, the Grateful Dead, Emmylou Harris, and Bonnie Raitt, Bromberg’s reputation and following grew exponentially. We look forward to the David Bromberg Quintet gracing our historic 1892 stage as we share a 50th year milestone!
