NHS Swimming Falls Short To Maine-Endwell

MAINE-ENDWELL – On Thursday, the Norwich girls swim team came up short 85-74 to Maine-Endwell. Despite the loss, Norwich put up a tough fight with many strong swimmers.

Nina Kman continues to strive as she picked up first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard butterfly. She also was a part of the 200 yard freestyle relay team with Meghan Funk, Adrianna Palmer, and Mikayla Sastri that earned first with a time of 2:03.97.

Funk joined Julia Llewellyn, Aurora Shtrauch, and Olivia Palmer in the 200 yard medley and came in second. Funk also placed third in the 200 yard individual medley just nine seconds behind the second place leader.

Mikayla Sastri had a good meet individually as well as she was the lone qualifying finisher in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:56.86 and came in second in the 50 yard freestyle event.

Aurora Shtrauch, Julia Llewellyn, and Regan Finnegan were the top three finishers in the 100 yard backstroke for Norwich.

Norwich is back in the pool on Tuesday, hosting Owego-Apalachin at 5:30 p.m.
