GREENE — On Tuesday, the Greene Trojans boys soccer team defeated Oxford 6-1.

Greene led 4-0 at halftime before Oxford answered back with a goal by Gordon Smith. Otherwise, Oxford was held to just six shots on goal.

Greene’s Liam Flanagan had a stellar game with four goals while teammates Seth Symons and Jon Westcott each scored a goal. Shane Rideout picked up an assist in the win.

Flanagan also got some time in goal, splitting time with starter Tony Sergi. Together, Sergi and Flanagan saved a total of five shots that went their way.

Oxford’s Kayden Renfrow and Caden Rifanburg combined for nine shots in the loss.

While that was Greene’s final regular season home game, they will be on the road facing UV/GMU on Thursday. For Oxford, the Blackhawks will be at Bainbridge-Guilford on Thursday. Both games are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
