NYSP seeks information on shooting that occurred in Binghamton
KIRKWOOD – New York State Police Investigators at Troop C - SP Binghamton are looking for any information regarding a shooting incident that occurred on October 22, at approximately 12:50 A.M. at Madame Oars, located at 584 Upper Court Street, in the town of Kirkwood. One person was shot.

Troopers and emergency responders respond to accident with a side by side in Cortlandville
CORTLANDVILLE – On October 23, at approximately 1:59 p.m., New York State Police at Homer, Cortlandville Fire and TLC Ambulance responded to an accident involving a side-by-side in a field off Hobart Hill Road in the town of Cortlandville.
An investigation revealed that two people were traveling in the side-by-side when it tipped on a graded hill, a 10-year-old passenger got his leg trapped underneath. The side-by-side was lifted off the child and he was transported by Cortlandville Fire’s side by side to a larger field where he was then transported to a helicopter and flown to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

Troopers respond to fatal crash in Maine
ENDWELL – On October 21, at approximately 2:27 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell responded to State Route 26 in the town of Maine for a report of a single vehicle crash.
When a trooper arrived, the vehicle was upside down and the male driver was still inside. Witnesses in the area and members of Maine Ambulance were assisting the male.
He was transported by Maine Ambulance to Wilson Medical Center where he later died. The man is identified as Mark L. Truesdail, age 65 of Endicott.
An investigation revealed that Truesdail was south on State Route 26 when for an unknown reason left the roadway, went into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to go airborne and strike trees.

Groton woman charged after menacing victim
NEWFIELD – On October 14, New York State Police at Ithaca Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Cypress Jana V. Hill, age 25 of Groton, NY for the class “B” felony of Burglary in the first degree and the class “E” felony of Criminal Contempt in the first degree.
She was also charged with the misdemeanor of Menacing in the second degree for a second incident.
On October 9, 2022, Troopers were dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to a report of a dispute on Ward Boulevard in the town of Newfield.
An investigation revealed that Hill entered a residence by kicking the door open then threatened a victim with a knife. Hill also violated an order of protection while at the residence.
On October 10, troopers were dispatched to a report that Hill menaced the same person with a knife near the intersection of Millard Hill and Elmira Road in the town of Newfield.
Hill was arrested on October 14, 2022 and processed at SP Ithaca. She was transported to Tompkins County Centralized Arraignment and Processing.
