NEW BERLIN – On Saturday, December 10, New Berlin will be hosting its annual tree lighting at 6 p.m at the corner of Main and Genesee Streets.
The event will begin with a dance performance by the Otsego School of Dance, followed by the lighting of the beautiful tree, donated by Mike Holbert and Johnson Family Farm. After the tree has been lit, the Community Choir and Broadway's Jeff Keller will be performing.
Snacks will be available, including chili from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, coffee and hot chocolate provided by Tuller’s Catering, cookies from the First United Methodist and Berean Baptist Churches, and cupcakes Kelly Bank’s Cakes. Chobani will also be there handing out free cases of their yogurt.
The event also offers opportunities to give back to the community. Officers from the New Berlin Police Department will be “collecting unwrapped toys as part of their ‘Stuff A Cop Car’ campaign.”
Every toy that is donated “will go to Project Santa, which supports families in need within the Unadilla Valley Central School district”. Non-perishable food items can also be donated at the event for the Chenango County Food Pantry (located at Roots & Wings).
