SHERBURNE – On Monday evening, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders hosted Clinton, where they suffered a 72-45 loss.
S-E tried to compete with the Warriors, but when Clinton scored 23 points in the third quarter, they had no luck developing a comeback strategy. Clinton was also consistent in free-throw shooting with making 11 of 16 shots.
Leading the way for the Marauders was Rylan Sigman who posted 11 points with Darren Miles behind him with 10 and knocked down two three’s. A majority of the S-E offense also contributed with at least two points in the loss.
The Warriors had three players in double-digits with Andre Jackson leading all scorers with 20 points, teammate Tega Igho scored 14,Trevor Forde and Jack Palmeri tied with 11 each.
Despite the loss, S-E did find out that they picked up a win on a forfeit by Sidney from an earlier game in the season. This win comes from a non-league opponent, so it does not help them in the divisional standings, but gives them seeding points.
