LANSING – There is no stopping the Greene Trojans girls basketball team as they picked up their fifth straight win of the season. As a well-balance team, they earned a 52-21 win over Lansing. The Trojans now have three MAC wins in the books as the holiday season begins.
Leading the way was Payton and Abby Yahner. Payton scored 17, including five of Greene’s seven three-point shots while Abby had 11 points. Cassie Butler also finished with 10 points in the contest.
According to coach Dave Gorton, this was Greene’s best effort of the season as they played a very “unselfish and balanced” game, while executing well on defense.
Greene is eager to continue to play well as they prepare for the UV Holiday Tournament on December 28 against Windsor. The Trojans will resume league play on January 4 against Deposit-Hancock.
