NEW BERLIN – After losing two challenging games, the Unadilla Valley Storm boys basketball team had a great turnaround as they defeated Harpursville 59-50.
After falling behind in the first eight minutes of action, the Storm quickly turned things around with an impressive 19 points. They held Harpursville to eight points to take a 33-25 lead at halftime.
Trason Murray knocked down four of his six three’s on the night to have 15 points alone in the first half. He finished the contest with 22 points while teammate Haywood Edwards had 16 points.
While not being valuable in scoring, Senior Trent Marinelli helped in another way. He did score two points, but came away with an impressive 13 rebounds to secure the win.
Harpursville’s Brayden Sakowsky scored 20 points and Dominik Franklin had 13 points in the loss.
UV will be co-hosting the Holiday Tournament with the girls team. The Storm plays Sherburne-Earlville on December 28 at 6 p.m. The Marauders won the previous matchup from the tip-off tournament 47-35.
