SOUTH KORTRIGHT – The Oxford Blackhawks girls basketball team is on a roll as they won their sixth straight game in the 65-42 win over South Kortright. They continue to show that they are a well-rounded team who brings much confidence onto the court. Something that Coach Chris Palmer and the rest of his coaching staff should be nothing but proud of.

Right off the bat, the Blackhawks started out superior with 21 points scored in the first that helped take a 34-13 lead at halftime. Their momentum did not quit in the second half as they jumped back into the game with 22 points in the third quarter.

Oxford’s Madalyn Barrows led all scorers with an outstanding 26 points, including four three-point shots. Barrows also led the team with five defensive rounds. Kyla Kelsey-Jones and Ella Kelsey both scored 13 points while Taegan Manwarren had six.

Oxford (6-0) heads home to play Harpursville on Friday at 7 p.m., where they look to continue their win streak.
