NEW BERLIN – After missing playing each other in the Sherburne-Earlville tip-off tournament, the Lady Marauders and the UV Storm girls basketball teams finally met in a Section III/Section IV matchup. S-E held on to a 44-34 victory with UV threatening in the fourth quarter.
S-E brought out their powerful height on defense, shutting down Kadence York and Jaiden Schrag early with toughness from Hannah Todd-Rogers, Trinity Thornton, and Abby Shaver. While all three were fierce on defense, Todd-Rogers and Thornton excelled offensively as well.
Todd-Rogers led with 17 points while Thornton knocked down three three-point shots and finished with 16 points.
Although she was limited in various times throughout the game, Jaiden Schrag led UV with 16 points in the contest. Her six points in the fourth quarter helped the rest of the team attempt a comeback with a total of 18 points scored. But, being held to six points in the second and third quarter did not help out efforts late in the game.

UV will be playing Windsor in the UV Holiday Tournament consolation game at 2 p.m. while S-E faces an undefeated Greene Trojans team in the championship at 5 p.m.
