NEW BERLIN – After both teams were cut short in their respective first round games, the Unadilla Valley and Greene boys basketball teams appreciated the MAC league matchup. However, UV’s woes continue as Greene won 51-39 in the UV Holiday tournament consolation game.
Both teams were neck and neck in the first half with Greene taking a 28-23 lead at halftime. The Trojans came out fierce on both ends of the court for the second half, limited UV to just five points in the fourth quarter. The toughness on defense helped set up a steady lead.
Greene was led by Joel Vielandi who was not limited at all in this game as he finished with a team-high 16 points. Liam Flanagan and Trevor Ketcham tied with 10 points behind him. Liam also received all-tournament honors.
For UV, Trason Murray received all-tournament honors with his performance in the last two days. He had 10 points in the loss. Kaden Butts, who earned a starting role, finished with nine points.
