ONEONTA – On December 25, at approximately 12:29 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta were dispatched to assist the Oneonta City Fire Department with a fully engulfed single wide trailer at the Oneida Village Mobile Home Park.

The home is located on Oneida Street in the town of Oneonta. 

Fire personnel ultimately located  a male that was  deceased in the residence.  Members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene. 

The male has been identified as Aaron S. Blakeslee, age 50, who lived at the residence. 

Numerous Fire Departments in the area were called to assist at the scene including, Worcester, Franklin, Otego, West Oneonta, Milford, Laurens and Otego EMS.

Investigators are working with the City of Oneonta Fire Department and State Fire Investigators.  

The fire remains under investigation.
