FABIUS-POMPEY – On Thursday, the Otselic Valley Vikings suffered a heart-breaking 44-43 loss to Cincinnatus in the final seconds of the game, but had something to cheer about at the same time. Junior Braeden Davis, who had 19 points, hit a 1,000 career points during the game and has a total of 171 points scored this season. The Vikings will be celebrating this accomplishment at a home game on Wednesday, January 4 at 7 p.m.
The Vikings and the Cincinnatus Red Lions both played an intense game, where there were many lead changes. The game got even more intense with seconds to go in the fourth quarter. OV’s Lukas Schieferstein was fouled with 6.7 seconds left and made both free-throws to tie the game, and also take the lead.
Cincinnatus took a timeout to set up a final play. While the play broke down, they were still able to get one shot off as time expired that went in.
The Vikings (2-5) return home on Wednesday against Fabius-Pompey at 7 p.m.
