GREENE – After falling to Windsor in the second meet of the season, the Greene Trojans looked for a better outcome against them on Tuesday evening. No such luck for Greene as Windsor came out on top 86-47.
Aside from the overall deficit, Greene looked promising with wins in the relay competitions. Jaxson Calice, Maeric Barrows, Jon Westcott, and Paul Starliper earned about a nine second victory in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:21.62 compared to Windsor’s 2:30.12.
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Greene earned 10 points with first and third place finishes. In first place was the team of Calice, Westcott, Drake Malmquist, and Hunter Becker with a time of 2:00.93. Sherman Ludolph, Maeric Barrows, Starliper, and Rowan Barrows helped Greene earn the third place finish.
While Windsor was dominate in the diving, in the 200 yard freestyle, and the 200 individual medley events, Greene found comfort in the 50 yard freestyle and got points off lower positions in the 100 yard freestyle and breaststroke events.
Calice had an all-around impressive meet with first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard backstroke events. Teammates Starliper and Ludolph took fifth and sixth respectively in the 50 yard freestyle.
Westcott, Starliper, and Maeric Barrows followed each other in third, fourth, and fifth for the 100 yard breaststroke.
Greene (1-3) will be at Sus Valley on January 10 at 5:30 p.m.
