BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team took on Tioga on Saturday evening, where they fell 45-33. In a game where Tioga came out strong in the first half and never looked back, even with the Bobcats threatening late.
Tioga posted 35 points in the first half and held B-G to just 12. Even while the Tigers were shutout completely in the third quarter, B-G was unable to spark a big rush offensively as they scored six points. The Bobcats scored 15 in the final eight minutes of play, but it was no help as they were outscored throughout three of four quarters.
Despite the deficit, B-G saw James Hogroian continue to drive the offense. Hogroian scored 13 points and earned 14 rebounds, coming off his 13 rebounds against UV. Isaac Seiler remains confident with throwing up three’s as he finished with six points behind Hogroian.
B-G can appreciate that this loss came from a non-league opponent and move on with heads held high. The Bobcats sit at 5-4 on the season with a MAC record of 3-1, only loss to Greene.
B-G will look to give Delhi another battle on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Delhi remains undefeated and had defeated the Bobcats 78-41 in the Shalkey-Mokay Tournament, but that was when B-G was down several players. It should be quite an interesting rematch.
