WATERVILLE - On Saturday, the Sherburne-Earlville Lady Marauders suffered a 41-40 loss to Waterville as Natalee Collins scored the final basket with 11 seconds left.

This was the second tough loss that the Marauders had faced as they fell to Clinton by a short 46-42 margin while attempting to go even on the season.

S-E held on to a brief 24-20 lead at halftime before playing consistently with Waterville in the second half. However, the Indians stepped up their game plan late in the game. Their late drive set them up to take the opportunity at the game-winning basket, leaving S-E with no time to come up with a plan of their own. Waterville also had several players capture double-digit rebounding with a few ending in double-digit scoring.

Chesnee Miller led the Marauders with 14 points, including two three-pointers and going four-for-six at the free-throw line. Hannah Todd-Rogers finished with eight points.

S-E’s next game will be this evening at 7 p.m. against Westmoreland.
