NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Lady Storm hosted Harpursville for Senior Night on Thursday, where they came away with a 51-32 victory. The Storm currently stand at 6-10 on the season with a few games left to follow.
Prior to warmups, UV honored seniors Mackenzie Acre, Bella Jones, Maddie Sayles, and Kadence York. All four ladies have been at least two-sport athletes for the Storm and have big dreams ahead of them, where they hope to continue playing their respective sport(s) at a college level.
The four seniors, along with junior Jaiden Schrag, were included in the starting lineup, where Maddie Sayles excelled with a team-high of 12 points, knocking down two three’s in the victory.
UV was able to strive on both ends of the court, taking advantage of Harpursville’s mistakes to help them build a steady lead throughout the game offensively. They also were very quick to the ball to be able to secure possession. Harpursville earned 18 free-throws in the game, where they made seven and most of their points in the final eight minutes came from the line.
UV will be at Bainbridge-Guilford on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 p.m.
