NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Storm bowling team headed right back on the lanes for the second straight day with the same strong attitude that they’ve had all season long. This time the Storm swept Hancock from their own Lake Street Lanes, something they had also done in late December.
The Boys had a tough match-up but came out on top 3308-3129. With UV bowlers achieving a 647 or better, it didn’t matter if Hancock’s Anton Leonard marked a new 759 high series to lead the MAC over Owen Hill’s 758.
Blake Wright led the Storm with a 675 series, all 216 or better games with his highest of a 233 in the second. Jacob Prentice finished behind him with a 671 and bowled a 244 in the final game. Owen Hill bowled the second-highest game of the contest behind Leonard’s 279 as he had a 278.
Phalen Hill led the Storm girls with a 660 high series, improving from her original high of a 641 on the MAC scores. She bowled a 250 in the final game, which is a new best for her this season as well, replacing the previous 241. Kailee Figger finished behind her with a 600, including a 215 in the final game.
UV will be hosting Sidney on Friday at 3:45 p.m. before heading off to the MAC Championship in Binghamton on February 14.
