DEPOSIT – Since getting back into MAC league play on January 19, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team have won their last three games, including a 50-37 victory over Deposit-Hancock.
The Bobcats played a tremendous first half of basketball to follow through in the final 16 minutes to earn their seventh league win and their ninth overall. B-G is 7-2 in the MAC this season with the two losses coming off a hot-headed Delhi team.
B-G dominated in the second quarter especially as they posted 22 points to carry a 33-11 lead at the half. They pushed through in the final two quarters as Deposit/Hancock tried to run a late comeback in the end.
The Bobcats also excelled at rebounding with David Emerson picking up nine and Connor Vredenburgh with seven rebounds in the contest.
James Hogroian led the charge on offense with 21 points, playing an excellent three of four quarters. He settled in with nine points in the strong second quarter.
Emerson finished behind Hogroian with 14 points, including making five-of-eight foul shots and scoring the team’s seven points in the final eight minutes.
B-G (9-6) will host Candor in a non-league matchup on Friday at 7 p.m.
