NEW BERLIN - It was an exciting final regular season match for the Unadilla Valley Storm bowling teams. Both the boys and girls teams took the win over Sidney to become MAC Champions.
The boys swept Sidney with their highest score in program history of a 3318 while the girls won 4-1. The one loss they took was the first in two years, bringing their record to a 103-1, which is still very impressive.
Will Rumovicz bowled lights out for the boys. He bowled a stellar 813 high series, including just missing a 300 with a 298 in the first of three games.
His 813 is top of the MAC high series list after surpassing teammate Owen Hill (758) and Hancock’s Anton Leonard’s 759. His 298 high game also currently reigns the MAC leaders, passing Sidney’s Caidyn Lambert’s 289 and his own previous score of 279.
Pyper Kneale led the girls with a 589 high series. She bowled in the 190s before hitting a 205 in the second game. Brynn Grant finished behind her with a 560, including a team-best 237 in the first game. Sidney’s Cassie Cole (613) and Holly Bookhout (579) were the two highest scores of the contest.
The Storm will be bowling in the MAC Championship Tournament held on February 14 at Ripics Lanes in Binghamton before Sectionals on the 18th.
